Acogedor — Spanish for cozy — is a home-based project space in Los Angeles that operates at the threshold between public and private.

Founded in 2017 by artist Nicole Rademacher, the space uses the domestic environment as a site for examining access, proximity, and belonging. Gatherings take place at an intimate scale, where entry is not neutral and participation is shaped by context, invitation, and relationship.

Programming spans in-person and online formats — workshops, conversations, artist-led projects — and has included Belonging in Domestic/familiar settings, Feelings of Belonging and Tea, Origin Stories, the Invisibility(ies) series, and Portraits of Cumpleaños. Rather than presenting finished work, Acogedor prioritizes process, exchange, and the conditions under which experiences are shared.

The space convenes artists, facilitators, and participants across disciplines, where belonging, invisibility, and home are taken up as conditions rather than destinations. Selected documentation of past programming is available below.
